What Jesus Died For, 2022Silkscreen, gouache, watercolor crayon, sharpie, stain, ink, pencil on wood paneling, 8' × 6'

Samuel Dorsky Museum, New Paltz NY

What Jesus Died For represents a critical examination of certain aspects of Christianity. It delves into the ideologies perpetuated by institutions that propagate sentiments of hatred and dissemination of misinformation. It is essential to clarify that the intention is not to disparage individuals who derive fulfillment from their faith or Christianity as a whole. Rather, the focus is on addressing those who manipulate Christianity as a tool for their own agendas. These actors distort the narrative to inflict intentional harm upon others, including targeted groups such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+ communities, and adherents of other faiths. Using a lens of scrutiny and satire, the piece endeavors to unravel the hypocrisy inherent in the narratives propagated by such entities.
